It is with great sorrow that the partners and members of De Pardieu Brocas Maffei announce that Charles-Henri de Pardieu their founder, partner and friend has passed away on Monday April 1, 2024 at the age of 86.
A talented lawyer and daring entrepreneur, Charles-Henri founded De Pardieu Brocas Maffei in 1993 together with Thierry Brocas and Antoine Maffei. Now among one of France’s leading business law firms, De Pardieu Brocas Maffei is a firm whose founders’ values and vision have been transmitted far beyond professional ties, driven by a shared passion for law.
The memory of Charles-Henri de Pardieu will survive not only in France, but also internationally. He was regarded by our foreign colleagues as an emblematic figure of the Paris Bar, and one of the pillars of the International Bar Association of which he became a member in the early 1980’s. He held the position of co-chair of the IBA Banking & Financial Law Committee from 1998 through 2003. He is one of the only French citizens to have been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from Chambers and Partners.
Today, a major page in the history of our firm has been turned with the passing of this exceptional colleague and man, one of rare distinction and humanity, whose tireless work and deep-rooted values have shaped our identity. All lawyers and members of De Pardieu Brocas Maffei are determined to keep alive and perpetuate this invaluable heritage, which will continue to inspire our “Firm”.
Our heartfelt thoughts are with his family, especially his wife and children.
