Advising the arrangers, lenders and hedging banks (Banco Santander SA, Mizuho Bank Ltd and Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale) in connection with the execution of a partnership agreement between Université d’Aix-Marseille (AMU) and the project company Melaudix established by Eiffage SA dated May 6, 2014.
This project falls within the scope of the Opération Campus initiated in 2008 by the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research.
Pursuant to the agreement with an aggregate term of 28 years and 6 months, the private partner is entrusted with the overall mission of financing, designing, converting, refurbishing, building and ensuring the technical maintenance of a set of buildings and academic areas (law and literature university library, main “literature-social sciences” building, completion of a new car park, a nearby restaurant and outdoor spaces) involving a net surface area (SHON) of approximately 45,500 sq.m located on the site of the “Quartier des Facultés” in Aix-en-Provence.
The structure was designed by Carta-associés, Espace Architecture International and Tangram Architectes.
The bank financing is ensured by Banco Santander SA, Mizuho Bank Ltd and Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale acting as arrangers, lenders and hedging banks under the financings in construction stage (construction facility and VAT revolving facility) and in operating stage (project facility and Dailly facility).
