De Pardieu Brocas Maffei has advised MediaSchool, supported by the Florac investment fund, on the acquisition of IFC Group, one of the leading private post-secondary education groups in southwestern France, from Ixo Private Equity, the majority shareholder of the IFC Group since 2014 and Eric Dupressoire, President of the IFC Group.
This acquisition allows the MediaSchool Group to be present in 6 new cities – Saint-Etienne, Valence, Avignon, Nîmes, Alès and Perpignan – and to reinforce their presence in two cities: Marseille and Montpellier, as well as to reach the 10,000-student goal before 2024!
Founded in 1990 in Avignon, IFC is a French group of specialized higher education institutions that has succeeded in developing from BTS to Bac+5, and which today has more than 2,500 students in 8 regional cities.
The French leader in private higher education and continuing education in communication, digital and media professions, MediaSchool is present in France and abroad. It comprises 45 schools offering training in communication, journalism, digital, audiovisual production, luxury goods, sports, the school of ecological and social transition and business. In May 2020, the Florac family office took a minority stake in MediaSchool’s capital, in order to support the group in its organic and acquisition-based developments.
